Description:
|
Spooklight Road has been the sight since around 1881 where eyewitnesses have reportedly seen a mysterious ball of light that hovers along the road from dusk to dawn. Many close encounters have been reported throughout the years especially when Garland `Spooky` Middleton ran the old Spooklight Museum at the end of the road. The light is actually seen in Oklahoma and is claimed by various towns in the region including Joplin, Hornet, Neoshua, and Seneca. It is also sometimes referred to as the Tri-State Spooklight.
The Ghost Research Society has been out to the area many different times throughout the years investigating the phenomena with high-tech equipment, video cameras and state of the art detection equipment. The light is often attempted to be debunked as swamp gas, will of the wisp, car headlights and tail lights, gas from mines, ball lightning and even UFOs.
Nobody seems to know what it is but many of the terrestrial theories have already been ruled out to date
