Near the trail head of the Manoa Falls Trail is an old banyan tree. Legend states that banyan trees often house the lost spirits of those who have passed on. However, the banyan tree in THIS area of the trail is unfortunately directly in the path of Hawaii's most popular manifestations, the Night Marchers. Nighttime visitors to the tree have reported hearing the rhythmic drum beat and chanting associated with these phantom warrior processions.
