Use Common Sense
· Obviously exploring private property is illegal. You can get into trouble for going to these places, you can get a pretty hefty fine, and possilby jail time. You should ask the owner of the property before going to such place.

However...
· If you do decide to explore a peice of property without first getting permission. Be careful. It's always a good idea to scout the location during the day so you know what you're working with before you go. Don't be stupid, don't park right in front of the building, area, whatever that you are going to explore. Use your flashlight as little as possible if you're in an abandoned building, a light will illuminate the entire room you're in, and will be able to be seen through the probably broken windows very easily. Know the building or area you're going to explore. It may be dangerous (ie. the floor may be rotten, not fully unoccupied, etc.). Don't make loud noises, walk near windows, etc.

Purpose of this site
· The purpose of this site is the explore and learn about places that are off the beaten path in the United States, and documenting these places before they are demolished or totally forgotten. It is not to vandalize or otherwise harm those places. One of my favorite books by Ninjalicious, in his book Access All Areas (A users's guide to the art of urban exploration), highlight's this by using the Seirra Club's motto which is, "take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints." This is a motto that you should take to heart. This means you should not take anything from the place, vandalize, graffiti, or any of these things. Not to mention, if you are caught, doing any of these practices will create a much worse situation rather than if you were just taking photos.

· Whether you explore abandoned or haunted places because of the history, the art of photography, the pure exploration, for the hopes to see something out of the ordinary (haunted places), or the shear beauty of an abandoned place decaying, your goal should be to leave everything as it is so that others can appreciate the place just as you did when you explored it. If it is found that you are using this website for these unethical purposes, you will be banned. Do not email me for directions or information on how to enter these places, otherwise your e-mail will be ignored.

What must be said...
· Basically, if you go to one of the places on this site.. and get into trouble. It is not the webmaster's, the site's, the user who posted the place's fault. This site cannot be responsible for members investigating these places without permission.

Enjoy the site, don't sue me.
